Paul Latta has a desire through these illustrations to capture the spirit and nature of wildlife before it is gone forever. Paul is of Scottish and Blackfeet ancestry and he believes that all things have a spirit and that man can learn from these spirits if they will take the time to pay attention and listen to what they are trying to tell us. Paul's illustrations and designs have been shown in the Five Western State Exhibit, The Indian Paintbrush Exhibit, in Hamilton MT and Billings MT, the Park County Wyoming Fair. Paul's designs have also been used in the adult news letter "Aces", and tee shirt design for Classified Staff at Northwest College, Powell Wyoming. Also, Mike Eastman's Outdoorsman Magazine, Thermopolis WY. The 1994 Wyoming State Financial Catalog. The Independent Motorcycle Association. Paul has also published in the "Visualize Verbalize" His pen and Ink illustrations are used with a technique called Stippling, which consists of ink dots of various sizes. His pencil work begins with eight layers of background until there is a dark gray cover to complete the page. Paul then uses an eraser to remove the layers until the image begins to form. At this point the detail work begins until the image is completed. The finished illustration takes him between 12 to 80 hours to complete. This time period depends on the media, size and detail to give the viewer a bond with the illustration.
